The Schaffer's Mill Golf Course plays to a par-71 and measures 7,100 yards from the longest tee. Schaffer's Mill Club (formerly Timilick Tahoe) was recognized as the "#1 Best New Private Course in California" by GolfWeek magazine in 2008, and the accolades have continued to come in ever since.
The design winds its way through the towering pines, with two distinctly memorable nine-hole experiences. The outward or "Meadow" nine ambles through firs, spruce and Ponderosas at the base of a ridge, while the inward "Mountain" nine showcases elevation changes of up to 400 feet, with 360-degree views of the Martis Valley, Lookout Mountain, and the Carson Range. The par 71 course plays to over 7,000 yards and is considered by many as the finest golf course in the Tahoe and Truckee area.

This is the best course in the Truckee area, and that's saying quite a lot. Formerly private, now looks to be moving toward semi-private. Although an expensive round of golf, this one is worth it. If you are looking for a great golf vacation, and money is not the determining factor, the trio of Coyote Moon, Old Greenwood and Schaffer's Mill, combined with the Truckee/Lake Tahoe area, would be tough to beat. Located in a beautiful alpine setting, Schaffer's Mill offers great golf holes, no two alike, all in wonderful condition, calling for every shot in your bag. Just when you think it can't get any better, the next hole proves you wrong. The finish of #17 and #18 is probably the best ending to a round I can remember. The staff is very friendly and helpful and make you feel like a member. The clubhouse was nearing completion in 2013. Highly recommended.

This private course now allows minimal outside play. This may be one of the prettiest mountain courses you will ever see. The back none is as good as it gets. The entire layout seems to get more interesting with every hole leaving you to wonder....what could the next hole possible be? Tremendous elevation changes, white sand bunkers, few homes and that private feel. All just a short way from Lake Tahoe. See my reviews at Spygolfer.com and golfsliced.com.

No longer fully private. Beautiful layout. Good practice facilities. NCGA price came with shirt and hat, made 125.00 price a little more acceptable. No clubhouse yet, still working out of a trailer but comfortable. Will DEFINITELY go back next year.

Beautiful day and scenary was breathtaking. Course matched both. I would give it my highest rating. I can't think of anything I didn't like. Practice area was excellant and the golf pro gave directions to a barbeque restaurant after the round.
